How many times has this happened to you? You listen to a song and can’t remember the name, or you just happen to really like it but is pretty hard to guess. Music recognition apps are just made for that situation. While there are a lot of options out there at the Play Store, we have handpicked Sony’s TrackID.
The app comes pre-installed in Sony’s devices but an Android user could also get it downloaded from the Play Store for free. The one thing you would absolutely fall in love with is the app’s UI. It is easy to use and very clean. There are three separate columns to organize the whole app – Record, History and Charts. The app also has a widget for your home-screen, so you don’t have to go fishing for it from the bundle of apps in your app drawer while you are
The home screen has a button which says ‘ What am I listening to? Push Button to find out.’ So, things have actually changed in the music recognition department. You just have to push this dedicated button and within seconds you would have the details on your fingertips. Well, that didn’t go as per the plan when we tested the app practically. We played the song and pressed this do-it-all button, but it did not deliver the details of the song on the home page itself. We had to go to the Charts option to redeem the details of the song. We hoped it would just pop-up on the app main page by itself. But, whatever may be the case, it guessed the songs right.
This is definitely a better solution to your curiosity than typing some words of the lyrics and Google it. Of course, there are apps like Shazam and SoundHound which are equally amazing, if not better. But for those who are looking for a cleaner UI and to-the-point answers, TrackID is the ideal companion.
