Do Camera App Review

So I was just surfing around when I found a mention of the Do Camera App by IFTTT. Since Motorola’s camera app is not really impressive, I already needed a replacement. And as it turns out, Do Camera is kind of amazing. Especially if you are running tight on time or if you are a blogger or just a smart person in general.

The app is really light and gets installed quickly on my phone. The first thing you would love about the Do Camera is that it is beautifully designed. It is very easy to use and has a nice UI.  What it actually does, is it makes a default action attached to your camera button. So you could literally do anything with your photo with just a tap. For instance, if you want to quickly take a photo and upload it to FB, you would just have to tap on the symbol and it would take the photo. Next, you select which photos to upload and done. Easy and fun.

I do not really like the idea of calling the custom upload option as ‘recipe’, because it is rather misleading. I actually thought that it has something to do with cooking when I first read the app’s description. Okay, that might just be me or the fact that I was running low on coffee. Anyway, you get to create your own buttons and the app gives you a lot of options to choose from. You could upload a photo post to WordPress, you could share it on Instagram, you could even go for a mix and match share it on Instagram plus upload it on Dropbox. So, yes, a LOT of options.

You could easily switch between ‘recipes’ by tapping on a bowl symbol at the bottom right of the screen, and you will see the list you have handpicked or created. The app works flawlessly all the while we test it. But there are still a few things that they need to work on. Like they really need to be clear on the recipe idea.

I give IFTTT more credit for the concept, because it could really get painful opening a singular app and uploading stuff from there. Bottom line, it’s worth a try.
